Why join STAND?
- STAND is a nationally-recognized advocacy organization with chapters across Canada. Our work is often pitched to government officials.
- Your work will be seen by other NGOs, Members of Parliament, Senators, and bureaucrats.
- You will receive full credit for your work, so you will be able to gain experience in fields like political advocacy, policy research, communications, blog writing, fundraising, event organizations, and more.
Interested in Volunteering? There are two ways to get involved:
Join a Chapter
Join a chapter on campus! Each chapter has its own unique characteristics and events throughout the year. They work on informative events, political action campaigns, social fundraisers and meetings, and much more. If you don’t see your campus listed, contact firstname.lastname@example.org for information and support in starting your own chapter.
Currently, STAND Canada only has post-secondary chapters. If you are interested in starting a chapter at a high school, we are interested in restarting our high school program with passionate youth across Canada. Contact email@example.com for more information.
Volunteer with STAND Canada
Our National team operates entirely online, so this is an especially great option for graduate students and those who have recently graduated. STAND Canada is divided into five teams (Advocacy, Chapters, Communications, Human Resources & Operations, and Policy), each of which offers opportunities for different skill sets and professional development. Please go to our volunteer page to view the open positions we are actively recruiting for. Applications are reviewed and filled on a rolling basis.
